Saratoga Lions Celebrate Community Spirit at the 4th of July Celebration

The Saratoga Lions Club had a wonderful and successful showing at this year’s Saratoga 4th of July Celebration at Kevin Moran Park. Under bright summer skies and surrounded by neighbors, families, and friends, our members proudly handed out hundreds of American flags to attendees — a tradition that continues to embody our commitment to service, patriotism, and community connection.

One of the highlights of the morning was partnering with our Pioneer High School Leo Club family, whose energy, teamwork, and enthusiasm made the event even more special. Our Leos jumped right in, helping distribute flags, greeting families, and representing the next generation of Lions leadership with pride.

Together, Lions and Leos created a welcoming presence throughout the park. Children waved their new flags, parents stopped to chat, and many community members expressed appreciation for the Lions’ ongoing service in Saratoga. Moments like these remind us why we serve — to strengthen community bonds and celebrate the values that bring us together.

A heartfelt thank‑you to all our club members, Leos, and volunteers who participated. Your dedication made this Independence Day celebration meaningful for everyone who visited our booth or received a flag.

We look forward to continuing this tradition next year and to many more opportunities to serve our Saratoga community.

The Saratoga Lions are excited to host a Magic Yarn Project volunteer event on Sunday, June 7, from 2:00–4:00 PM at the Saratoga Senior Center. This heart‑warming project brings volunteers together to create soft, whimsical yarn wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment — a simple act of kindness that brings comfort, confidence, and joy.

💛 What We’ll Be Doing

Volunteers will help assemble and embellish princess and superhero‑themed yarn wigs. No crafting experience is needed — just a willingness to help and a warm heart. All supplies will be provided.

👨‍👩‍👧 Who Can Participate

Everyone is welcome! Families, teens, seniors, first‑time volunteers — this is a gentle, creative, community‑building activity perfect for all ages.
